You need to:
- Find out about your condition and treatment
- Find out what range of treatments are available to you
- Know your medical history
- Explain to your health provider your religious/cultural beliefs if this is relevant to the care you receive
- Follow your treatment. Please let health care workers know if your are not going to follow your treatment and accept responsibility
- Let your practitioner know what other medications you are taking
- Take time to think over important decisions
- Tell your health provider if you are not happy with treatment or service
- Be considerate to staff and respectful to patients
